(Like Kat, I couldn't possibly narrow my favourite songs down to just 20, so really this is more like a selection of 20 of my favourite songs, from among what I have on iTunes.)

Step Two: Answer each question about the corresponding numbered song.

1) Where were you when you first heard this song? I don't remember; I've known this song a long, long time.

2) Why do you love this song so much? I'm not sure. It gives me chills sometimes, and I find it soothing when I'm upset or depressed.

3) Did you buy, download, or don't own this song? I downloaded the one I have on my computer, but my family owns the album.

4) Do you know all the words to this song? I think so.

5) Are you attracted to this singer? No, they're older than my parents!

6) How old is this song? 70s?

7) Do you dance to this song? Nah, it's not really a dancey type song.

8) What's the name of the album this song appears on? "Wish You Were Here"

9) Do you sing this song (without music) when no one's around? Not that one, no.

10) What's your favorite memory of this song? I tend to listen to this song when I'm upset, so the memories associated with it are not exactly positive.

11) Does this song make you want to cry, laugh, dance, headbang, something else? Just listen. It's beautiful, stirring and melancholy.

12) Favorite artist of all time, or one hit wonder on your list? Neither. I like Bright Eyes a lot, even though I've only listed one song--but I definitely wouldn't say 'favourite artist of all time' or anything.

13) What does this song make you think of? Driving with my dad, mostly. More recently, analysing it in my Linguistics tutorial with a boy I used to sort of have a crush on, who turned out to love Simon & Garfunkel as much as I do.

14) Would your mother listen to this song? Sure. In fact, I've probably listened to it with her.

15) What were you doing when you first heard this song? I first heard the song on the album 'Hejira' on my dad's record player in my grandparents' basement. Thus I was probably putzing around in the basement. However, I didn't hear (and fall in love with) the 2002 Orchestral Version--which is the one that's really my favourite--until last winter when I downloaded it. I'm guessing I was doing computery things when I first heard it.

16) Who does this song remind you of? My room last year, just because I listened to it so often there.

17) Quick - list all the lyrics you know of this song! (No fair using a lyric website!)
On a dark desert highway/ cool wind in my hair/ warm smell of coletus/ rising up through the air/ up ahead in the distance/ I saw a shimmering light/ my ____ grew heavy and my sight grew dim/ I had to stop for the night. *bored*... I know most of the lyrics, though I'm not sure how many complete verses.

18) Could you make out to this song? Sure, why not?

19) Why is this one of your all time favourites? Honestly, I'm not sure if it is. But it's one that I like a lot right now, and have been listening to frequently this summer.

20) Would you play this song with your best friend? Definitely.

Step Three: Questions about your list
1) How much time did you spend making this list? I don't know. It's been 2 hours since I started this entry, but I've been doing other things in the meantime.

2) Which song on your list makes you cry the hardest? Idk... I've cried to about half of these. Maybe 'Comfortably Numb'?

3) Which song can you sing the best? Probably 'America' (but bear in mind that I can't actually sing).

4) Which song makes your feet itch (to dance, duh ^_^)? If it had to be one of these, then 'Shadow Stabbing'

5) What's the oldest song on your list? Hell if I know. Several are from the 60s, but I'm not sure which is the oldest.

6) If you had to pick one song off this list to be the only song you can play for the rest of your life, what would it be? Probably 'Mr. Tambourine Man'

7) Why do you actually have time to do this list??? I'm waiting for a phone call.
