In other news, it is now 2009
Jan. 2nd, 2009 07:10 pmJohn Campbell writes hourly comics. Every day of every January for the last few years. I started checking them out on my most recent break from dissertation-writing (lol, writing). I started to get, y'know, inspired. Like, I could do this, this fun-yet-disciplined exercise to really flex my drawin' muscles and maybe up my comic output from one-per-several-months to something more frequent. Like, John Campbell could inspire January to be the daily comic writing month, like NaNoWriMo but less lame. Only I would have to make mine February, or start late, 'cause there's no way I'd be able to do it with dissertation and exams.
It would be hella boring at this time of year, anyway. I just imagine today: write write write oh god why can't I write; now I am having that mysterious apple pie for lunch instead of cooking; actually writing! and then the phone rings; finish a paragraph, take a break. Daniel and Harry are having another argument about vegan ethics. Thank god I am not a vegan.; I should be dissertating but instead I am writing this livejournal thing.
Well, as eager link-clickers may already have discovered, it turns out I'm a step behind in all this: February 1st is already the International HoCoWriDa, at least according to all those people doing it for the last few years. So I guess I'll do that. But I also want to see if I can keep it up for a whole month. That would be cool.
