These are the days of miracle and wonder
Jul. 9th, 2007 07:16 pmAh, my dear readers (vast audience that you are), it's been a while since I've posted. Well, I've been busy. Also, my last post was really funny, so I wanted to keep it up top for as long as was reasonable, because I like to think that I'm an entertaining sort of person (though I'm blatantly not). But the time has come for a more normal sort of update-type entry, so here 'tis:
My life's been gaining momentum recently, which is pretty scary to me in and of itself. But also exciting. I like being busy, and I'm trying to be less easily overwhelmed. Generally, I've been working working working at Summer Job and reading reading reading at Hobbes' Specious Arguments. I took about a week away from this to go to People & Planet's Summer Gathering. Considering how many times I've been asked about it, I should have the experience condensed into a few easy sentences by now, but I don't.
Nor do I have a great deal of time to devote to written reflection on the experience. Like I said, I'm pretty busy lately. But you know what? I love my life right now. It's full of problems, of course, (isn't it always? aren't everyone's?) but for the first time in a long while, I feel like everything's aligned in the right direction. Zoom.
ETA, because it's funny and I forgot to post it earlier:
Yesterday one of my co-workers was in a bit of a mood all day. She was irritable, flippantly hostile, and a bit, well, spleeny. But late in the afternoon, when there were no customers and she'd relaxed a bit, she was chatting to the other cook and revealed that she actually has an enlarged spleen. (From malaria. Which is less funny. But still.)
