My Granddaddy died yesterday. I can't quite process it yet. Everyone saw it coming, knew it was not a matter of 'if', but 'when', but somehow it's still a shock.
I spent most of last night on the phone to various family members, and most of this morning trying to figure out how to get home for the funeral on Saturday, and what to do about exams. Hey, if I get a flight on Friday, I might still get to take my Modern History exam tomorrow (hoorah).
I've discovered that, while greatly sympathetic, Student Support Services are not actually as helpful as they claim to be. And that the Travel Office is, in fact, entirely useless. Airlines are less than understanding--doubly so when employing automated teleprompters. Blah.
