Four more days...
Jul. 18th, 2006 03:31 pmJust four more days! Four more days and then NO MORE BOJANGLES EVER! I vow here and now, I will never work at a fast-food restaurant again. Ever.
Not that I actually had a full day there today. Last night I couldn't sleep until like 3 am, and as a result I overslept my alarm clock by about 4 hours. However, by hurrying I managed to only be 3 1/2 hours late... :-/
Still. I really can't deal with this shit anymore. I mean it was hard enough biking there every morning when I lived in Montford, and that was only a 10-minute bike ride. Now I've moved out past the UNCA campus, it's about a 25-minute ride to get there, almost all uphill, and almost all on Merrimon, the busiest road in town. Cars keep passing me with only like 6 inches to spare, forcing me to ride waaay to close to the curb and making me fear for my life every time I'm out there. And motorists really have no patience for bicycles, either. Today I was struggling up a steep little bit of hill after a light, and some lady honked at me because she couldn't pass because there were two people waiting to turn left in the left lane, like I should move to the side or something--but there was nowhere for me to go. Bitch. *sigh* I guess I could take Broadway back and thus avoid Merrimon most of the way, but that would make the trip a third or even half again as long, and I have enough trouble getting myself out the door as it is.
