You and Dr. Mobius... I find this interpretation interesting! I can see it, obviously, now that I look at what I've written, but the particular pathos I was trying to convey was 'trying to avoid speaking to another person and then desperately procrastinating when it becomes clearly unavoidable'. (I only bought cocodamol!)

But I'm wondering, from an artistic point of view, how to get that across better without laboring the point? Maybe just more to show how tiny that particular pharmacy is? The whole places is the size of your average living room, and it has about one and a half shelves (shelves, not stacks) of cold medicines and painkillers, so I was worried about the pharmicist's judgement not just because of my nervous mumbling but because she'd just watched me weave through every tiny aisle in the place like goddamn Pac Man before coming to ask her for drugs I knew damn well contain a controlled substance. :-S
