It's worth remembering that the Netherlands fought a major war to secure their independence from the Habsburg monarchy of Spain, so they may not have such a fond memory for these feudal types (even though Charlie wasn't a Habsburg).

Dave's DMing is fun. I sometimes wonder, though, whether he's critiquing the evils of the nobility or revelling in them, just a wee bit. Railroading is right: I remember squirming for a good half hour to avoid burning down a village on X-mas eve, and in the end I had to settle for buying an indulgence. Still, if you don't mind it, I find his adventures have some wonderful punch-ups. Incidentally, Charles the Bold is one of Dave's favourite historical personages.
